L.E.M.U.R. (pronounced just like the animal) stands for the League of Energy Materialization & Unexplained phenomena Research.

What does this mean???

League of Energy Materialization: As with most all phenomena, we believe most paranormal activity is the result of energy which takes on physical properties. The method by which energy "materializes" is a major facet in understanding why paranormal activity occurs.

& Unexplained phenomena Research: This is quite self-explanatory. We are interested in any and all occurrences which defy the explanations of conventional science.

Remember, at one time, almost everything could be considered "paranormal." There was a time when the sun or lightning bolts were worshipped as Gods. Now, we have a completely familiar and natural explanation for these things.

The L.E.M.U.R. team does not believe in "magic" and "supernatural" activity. We simply believe in "technology" that is not yet understood by the conventional sciences. Of course, this includes the possibility of detecting an aspect of humans which continues to exist after the death of the physical body.

Conventional science is based on phenomena that can be reproduced consistently under laboratory conditions. However, the activity studied by L.E.M.U.R. is often inconsistent, at best. Of course, that certainly doesn't mean it does not exist. It is simply so rare and dependent upon unknown variables that it is difficult to study.

Like everyone else, conventional scientists must make money to pay the bills--they're only human. Studying inconsistent activity is not a profitable occupation. Obviously, consistency provides security. However, not all real occurrences on this planet are consistent (at least to human observation).

The L.E.M.U.R. team employs expensive time and resources for its research. Therefore, we do charge for some research. This does not compromise our integrity, however. Like all serious scientists, we have bills to pay. This factor does not undermine our honesty, though. The family doctor charges for his service, yet it usually works.

With all our "advanced technology" we still cannot explain how the mind controls the body, where we came from, or where we're going. We don't even understand why we dream--a common activity that billions of people experience EVERY NIGHT!

As Carl Sagan states in his somewhat close-minded book, The Demon-Haunted World, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." We DO have evidence of phenomena which cannot be explained by current understanding, though.

Conventional scientists may call us "pseudoscientists." And yet, at the same time, the greatest questions of existence are just as much a mystery to them as anyone else.

In short, the L.E.M.U.R. team understands and KNOWS that unexplainable activity occurs every day in our universe. We are simply trying to understand it. Isn't this the goal of science?

Like most scientists, we use expensive instruments to help us gain understanding of the world. For this service, we must sometimes be compensated. However, we make no far-fetched or tainted claims--we honestly report the results of our research. And, best of all, we love what we do. If you want pleasant, credited and sound-minded investigators to research your phenomena, you'll find no better group than L.E.M.U.R. .

As a side-note, in the native language of Madagascar, "Lemur" means "ghostly spirit." Ironically, we didn't know this when the acronym was formed!
